About the Bagel

Our centerpiece menu item is the bagel.  There are several stories about the origins of the bagel: A Short History of the Bagel, Bagel, Bagel History, just to name a few.  We like to think that the bagel adopted special meaning just before the turn of the century when Europeans migrated to New York City, bringing generations of cultural appetites.

The Bagel Project observes traditional fermentation processes to create the authentic bagel.  No sugar, no honey, no egg, no preservatives.  We hand-shape and boil each work of art!  They are individually created with the intent of preserving your childhood memories and to create new ones.
